G.I. Sheet Versus PVC for Eliminators
The criterion for a
good Eliminator is a very low pressure drop which can be achieved only
by intricate design profiles. These variety of intricate designs are
much easier to be extruded from PVC material than G.I. As a result Mist
Eliminates can be easily designed to permit higher operational
velocities. For Air-washer system where fan performance plays a major
part in the system efficiency, one can design the system with higher
value of operating velocities. The higher the operating velocity, the
smaller the overall size of the plant and lower shall be its capital
cost. Further, steel being prone to corrosion particularly in the
chemical industries and industries in the coastal areas, the life of
G.I. Mist Eliminator is limited to a couple of season only. Whereas,
besides better performance the rigid PVC-mist Eliminators for pressure
drop, co-eff of Resistance and Separation Efficiency against the
affluent intake velocity. Both the curves highlight the superior
performance of Rigid PVC Mist Eliminators.
